Sources: New goalkeeper now on the agenda

Enzo Maresca has mentioned the need for a potential new stopper

Chelsea have started discussions around bringing in a new goalkeeper this summer, something they had already been thinking about doing before Enzo Maresca was even mentioned.

However, a new goalkeeper coming in is also something that Maresca has mentioned that he feels the squad needs, so the two align.

At the moment, we are hearing that if any goalkeeper is to be moved on this summer, then it is most likely to be Robert Sanchez.

Chelsea are now in the early stages of drawing up goalkeeper shortlists and reaching out to agents. The names are a bit sporadic still because some of them are on our shortlist from last summer with interest still there, but Maresca wants a top ball-playing goalkeeper and that will now become the most important asset. Obviously an all-rounder is vital.
