Sources: Mohammed Kudus/Rayan Cherki
Also contains Sunday's news roundup including news of an offer for Michael Olise!
Good evening everyone, it’s time to roundup all the latest Chelsea news from today. But before I do, I’ll speak on the Mohammed Kudus news from this weekend. Check back in later this evening around 9pm ish to get all the latest Chelsea news from Sunday, that I will add to the bottom of this article today as it happens (as close to). Sort of like a live blog, but a very chilled and not too regular one! If anything pops off today that I need to speak on, I’ll add it to this article rather than Substack App chat.
So you would have seen yesterday the reliable David Ornstein’s report on Chelsea’s interest in Mohammed Kudus of Ajax, who is a quality player by the way and one I’d be right behind us signing.
Ornstein said: “Chelsea have made contact with Ajax to express interest in signing Mohammed Kudus. No offer yet but dialogue has taken place. 22yo attacking midfielder among options Chelsea considering + agreement close on personal terms.”
You would have remembered we had an early drop on this news, because our interest in Kudus dates back before December last year, when some groundwork was even done on it then. To recap on that, you can check it out here in full.
Chelsea have been weighing up attacking midfielders who are versatile, largely ones who can operate in the centre or on the right, as I have been reporting on here for some time now.
Kudus is one of many options, as Ornstein says. But Lyon’s Rayan Cherki is also very high up on Chelsea’s list, as I also exclusively reported on here.
