The Chelsea FC Newsletter: Friday 30th May 2025!
Morning all,
Rounding off a great couple of weeks for Chelsea as the season ends. We finished it in the best way possible. A little break for the lads now before the Club World Cup starts in June. Now it is time for transfers and improving the squad ahead of next season. It’s a HUGE summer ahead for our decision makers, and they need to get this one right - it’s the most important one so far. It can make or break us in my view.
So on that note, we have the latest on new striker pursuits with news on Liam Delap being done, Nicolas Jackson, and whether we will sign two new strikers or just one here. This article was written at 9am yesterday and we had the drop on Delap selecting Chelsea before any other outlet! Obviously that situation has since moved on and Fabrizio Romano reports he will be confirmed soon with a medical booked!
I back the Delap signing. Obviously not as much as I’d back Victor Osimhen or Viktor Gyokeres, but I really like Delap and always have done. He has a lot of good traits and I do see the similarities to Diego Costa, our last TRUE 9 we had at this club. So I’m absolutely not be upset that we signing Delap. Full words here. Again this was written before the developments of the day.
The Score has jumped on today as well, and he is explaining why it is time to back Enzo Maresca and why he’s done enough to get the support of the fans and the club now. Big read from him here.
And we have Luke Rushbrook with us today as well for the second day in a row. Top man. Luke’s asking you all to pick your Chelsea squad for next season here, so do go ahead and get involved in this fun and interactive article.
Full news roundups from across the last 24 hours in the same place here, covering all your latest Chelsea news, quotes, interviews, and more reactions from our cup final triumph! You must check this one out today if you haven’t already because I lost count of the amount of sourced and exclusive stories that I added to this from our own sources yesterday - News on Jarrad Branthwaite, Jorrel Hato, Viktor Gyokeres, and Nico Williams from our inside info in this one!!
Obviously I expect the transfer news to ramp up a lot now, so as I’m not back on the site until Sunday, it’s probably even more important to make sure you’ve got the Substack App and stick on my notifications there, because any news I get between now and Sunday will be posted there on the chat section. For those who don’t use apps, you can still get to the chat section on the website on a laptop/PC too.
I’ll actually be on the App very soon actually to put out what we’ve heard on Jadon Sancho, with that situation going off last night after I logged off the blog. Silly season has well and truly begun, I think I’m in for the busiest ever to be honest… !
Have a great weekend guys and carry on these good feelings from the last couple of weeks! What a way to end what has been another really up and down season! I’ll do a review next week.
Peace, Si.
It really does feel much more positive not just the final outcomes but the positive attitude of the whole squad. I agree Si the summer player merry go round is going to be crucial to us progressing as a club.
