Following up from reports this week suggesting Chelsea are still interested in signing banned Brentford striker Ivan Toney.
Felix Johnston had the details, which I can recap on here.
He said: “Paul Winstanley is trying to push a plan and reach a consensus with other directors to move for Ivan Toney in January. Sources close to the player confirmed that Winstanley has been speaking to Toney’s camp since May, it’s his direct plan and Toney would be open to a move.”
You would have remembered my reports on Toney from months ago, he was a top candidate for our new striker this summer. Then his ban came in and things quietened down on him.
Toney cannot play again until January, but he can return to training in September.
