Morning all,

It’s a Chelsea FC match day and tonight has become super important now for many reasons. Chelsea simply HAVE to win against Southampton if they want to make the Champions League places, that has become non-negotiable due to the awful form since Christmas.

But what is also happening tonight is fan protests aimed at the owners and sporting directors. It’s gathered some real traction after the Aston Villa defeat, with some big names now getting involved too. I spoke to one of the original ‘organisers’ (he doesn’t see himself as an organiser but one of the first to start planning the protests) this week to hear the reasoning and plans behind it from his point of view. You can read about that here, see what the full plans are for tonight, and also see who else is getting involved. The SPTC community has spoken too, and we ARE supporting tonight’s peaceful protests.

Some transfer stuff now. You would have had this one drop in your emails yesterday but just in case you’ve missed it, Chelsea planning to go big for THREE new signings at least in the summer. Some names and plans in here via our top SPTC source!

Liam Delap is mentioned above, and Chelsea really tried hard to bring him in the January window. They are expected to go back for him in the summer, but will he suffice? Does he answer our needs? Is he proven enough? I speak about all of that and more in here.

With Chelsea now hanging on desperately by a thread to make the Champions League this season, question marks will continue to arise about some of the player’s futures if we miss out on it. Cole Palmer is absolutely one to watch in that sense for many reasons, and Paul Merson agrees. He’s spot on here.
