The Chelsea FC Newsletter: Friday 25th October 2024!
Morning all,
We’ve made it to the end of another week, happy Friday everyone!
Chelsea were in Europa Conference League action last night against Panathinaikos over in Greece.
The Blues had a pretty comfortable win in the end despite a shaky first 10 minutes of the game.
You can grab my detailed reactions on the game, my debrief, player/manager ratings, and conclusion in here.
We’ve been lucky enough to have two articles from Luke this week. He did his fantastic scouting report on Chelsea target Liam Delap earlier this week. And now it’s almost time for his infamous Loan Army Report to see how the Chelsea lads are doing out on loan. It’s not out yet though, but it will be out later today on this home page so do check back in for that later!
The Josh Acheampong situation became the story of this week, unfortunately for all the wrong reasons. Chelsea have told him to sign a new contract or he will not play at any level. Harsh? VERY. I gave my opinion on this earlier in the week that you would have seen in yesterday’s newsletter, but now is the time to deliver what I know on this situation via our SPTC sources in here.
Next up, I have to give plaudits to the sporting directors and the owners for one part of the squad build in particular, and that is forming superb squad depth. I think the decision to sign two decent options in every position this summer was very smart and is already paying dividends. You can read all about that in here.
Finally, check out all your latest Chelsea news in the same place from across the last 24 hours in here. A general roundup sweep and this also has the post-match press conference quotes from Maresca!
Chelsea play Newcastle at 2pm on Sunday in the Premier League, and I know I’ve been terrible at remembering, but I’ll make sure I actually set up the live match discussion thread for this game [I remembered last night] as I know many of you enjoy getting involved in those. That will be on the Substack App chat section. If no other big news before, I’ll see you all back on the site on Sunday for another big game!
Have a cracking weekend!
Peace, Si.
