The Chelsea FC Newsletter: Tuesday 8th April 2025!
Morning all!
Hope you’re having a good start to your week despite Chelsea’s poor performance on Sunday.
I’ve got a few more thoughts in the aftermath of that game coming up today, as well as another big summer transfer window article on new goalkeepers!
Let’s start there then as I know that is why many of you are here! You should be here for the content all year round mind because if you’re not, you’re missing out ;)
Chelsea ARE still in the market for a new goalkeeper this summer despite reports. I have a new name in here as well as all the latest on a new goalkeeper and also info on the current ones.
I’ve got some more issues to highlight after the Brentford game now. One of them is Christopher Nkunku. Honestly, playing with him right now is like playing with ten men so why on earth are we carrying him? He wanted out in January, he is just not interested anymore and doesn’t even press. Why keep playing him? Stop. My full view in here.
Malo Gusto is not a player we are carrying but he is a player in dreadful form this season. I’ve seen many fans giving up on him already but for me, I’m not giving up on him yet. He was superb when he first came in so I will be patient with him. Words on Gusto in full here.
What Chelsea do have right now though is a winger problem. On the whole, our wingers are just not good enough, and that is a concern seeing as we signed two last summer. It’s a position that for me needs to be addressed once again this coming summer. Across the board they are just not great. Words in full here.
The live blog was running yesterday and as always, we had all the latest general Chelsea news out as it came in yesterday covering all your latest Blues news from across the last 24 hours here.
See you all on the next live blog from 8.30am today!
Peace, Si.
I was listening to Hawksbee & Jacob’s on Talksport yesterday afternoon where, as is customary on the day after a Chelsea game, Andy Jacob’s was giving his views on all things Chelsea. He talked about the dreary, risk averse, flair-free style of football we play, with “inverted” this and that, inadequate strikers and goalkeepers etc. Danny Kelly pitched in more generally about how the game now has “psychological” coaches/managers who run a “my way or the highway” regime over the team. All quite depressing really.
We don't need to buy a first choice goalkeeper, just bring back Petrovic. Maresca came to Chelsea giving it large listened to nobody and ignored the fact that Petrovic was brought in to replace Sancez, when we bought him in January last season. Since then Petrovic has grown into a real high quality goalkeeper. Just look at his latest stats.
