Sources: Chelsea 'quietly confident' over Jamie Gittens but are aware of Bayern circling
It's got to a crucial period now
We should soon be hearing the conclusion of Chelsea’s attempts to sign Jamie Gittens from Dortmund.
It’s a transfer saga that went quiet due to the Club World Cup starting and Chelsea ‘walking away’ from negotiations. Of course, they hadn’t walked away at all, they were just not going to be held to ransom over ‘Club World Cup tax’ and decided not to desperately bring Gittens in for their CWC campaign.
Gittens has always been the priority target for the left wing and as we have been reporting on here for months now, this one has always felt inevitable.
However, Chelsea will not just pay whatever clubs want and will only get this one done on their terms.
