Sources: Chelsea keeping an eye on Alexander Isak
The Swedish international is currently lighting up the Euros
Some new information given to us over the weekend surrounds a player currently making a real name for himself out in the Euros this summer.
Although this is new information given to us from a reliable source, they also say that Chelsea watching Alexander Isak is actually not a new thing. In fact, most big clubs have been scouting him since his younger days, showing a lot of promise from a young age.
However, with Chelsea’s pursuit of Erling Haaland, who I am told is still the priority, they will of course always be looking at potential backup options, and Isak is definitely one.
The Haaland situation is complicated as we know, and any deal will be difficult to get done this summer. However, Roman Abramovich is driving this deal and he really wants to land his main target, there is still every chance he gets this done.
Things have been advancing with Haaland over recent weeks, and the last I’d heard an offer was being put together by Chelsea. As far as I am aware, this is still the case. Chelsea are stepping back and weighing up the options, whether they want to include a player, etc etc.
Terms will not be a problem, we know this. In fact, a verbal agreement would almost certainly have already been agreed.
However, I diverse. Isak IS an option if they cannot land Haaland.
The Swedish international is having a good tournament in the Euros this summer, and he is attracting a lot of interest from many clubs, including Chelsea.
The Blues want Haaland, and they might wait until next summer. But they also want a new striker THIS summer, and Isak is one of the many names being looked at as a potential backup option.
Now what I’m not over sure about is the details. Apparently Dortmund had an option to buy Iasak back, but that has now been bought out by Real Sociedad. But then I’ve also seen some stuff suggesting he has a buyout clause that any club can trigger.
Transfer Markt value him at £36m, but his buyout clause is said to be around £60m and Sociedad will not sell for less.

Hmm, interesting space to monitor for sure.
