Sources: Chelsea broadly agree personal terms to sign new striker as well as Liam Delap!

Chelsea will announce the new signing of Liam Delap very soon now as the final bits are expected to be tied up today in terms of the medicals at least.

Delap will join as Chelsea’s new striker, but he’s not expected to be the only one arriving this summer.

Chelsea want some serious competition up top and do not want to find themselves in the same situation as the 24/25 season where they were often left very thin up top and also, without real firepower.

There is an internal admiration for Nicolas Jackson still, but also a willingness to upgrade him and an acknowledgement that he is not yet showing that he can be that striker to lead us into the Champions League.

Enzo Maresca is a huge fan of Liam Delap and pushed to sign him, along with Joe Shields who was integral to getting this one done.

We have not yet heard any confirmation on whether Delap will be going to the Club World Cup yet with Chelsea, but I guess that might depend on the next bit of info that we are about to put out below….
