Sources: Callum Hudson-Odoi dedicated to making it at Chelsea and with England
The young winger wants to prove himself at Stamford Bridge and for the national team
Many people may not be aware of this, but Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi could still actually be eligible to switch nations and play for Ghana at international level.
Under UEFA rules as long as Hudson-Odoi doesn’t add to his three senior England caps, he could still make the switch, and it is something that he hasn’t previously ruled out.
“It’s something that I already had in my mind, set on already playing for England”, Hudson-Odoi was quoted saying at the start of June.
“So it was the thing obviously choosing Ghana or England, and at the end of the day I said I always had the right people around me who always advise me – what’s right, what’s wrong. England came and I said 'Yeah, let me go and play for my country.
“But I said Ghana is my home as well, so we’ll see, we’ll see. You’ll never know, so.”
However, as things stand, and things can always change, I’ve been told that Hudson-Odoi remains committed to making it with the England national team, despite his love and admiration for Ghana.
Further to this, I am told that he also has the same level of high commitment to making it at Chelsea and again, as things stand, does not want to leave the club.
As I told you recently in an article back in May, Thomas Tuchel rates him, has belief in him, and wants to turn him into a world-beater.
Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has confirmed the above and said that Hudson-Odoi WILL be staying at Chelsea this summer.
Things hadn’t gone to plan for Hudson-Odoi last season, and of course naturally there was always going to be some frustrations about not playing. He wants to play and win for the club he grew up at.
But he has always remained dedicated to the cause and to making it under Tuchel.
Moving forward, and this is my view, Hudson-Odoi needs to be deployed ideally on his preferred wide left position if possible, but if not then wide right or in the 10 role - Only then is where you will see the very best of him, and to give him every chance to prove himself, this is where he must play.

Pulisic left, Werner left. This isn't going to work. A quality player is going to be very unhappy. Would like to hear how you see this playing out. Maybe sell Pulisic? Klopp will pay a lot for him.
