The Chelsea FC Newsletter: Friday 7th March 2025!
Morning all,
My god what a rough 48 hours, no idea how I got the content out. So after Solly has literally now either had a fresh cold or flu for the last 5 weeks amongst teething and other infections, he then went down with a tummy bug. We had a nightmare night on Wednesday and the day that followed. Thankfully he seems OK now but yeah, apologies for not doing the Podcast yesterday but needs must. Man, it’s such a rollercoaster, he’s been so brave though.
Anyways, I somehow managed to watch the game last night and somehow managed to get some content out too. The Podcast will be out today and will see a return for Jai, luckily, who along with the legend that is Luke Rushbrook, will be holding down the fort in my absence. That will be out later today.
I reviewed the big Conference League game from last night, rated the players, and everything in between here. It was a poor performance from Chelsea but we got the important win to take back to Stamford Bridge next week.
The live blog was running yesterday as always and again, not sure how I managed to keep this going but I did, and you can grab all of your latest general Chelsea news from across the last 24 hours here.
I even managed to put out a sourced transfer article detailing some more plans for the summer window and how the calibre of targets could easily change depending on a number of things. Must read here.
I followed up my ‘why my love of football has decreased’ article from earlier in the week looking at Liverpool’s win against PSG this week, against all the odds. They got very lucky, but clubs are certainly finding ways to get results against possession football, is the game evolving once again? My words on that here.
A positive article on Marc Cucurella to finish things up now. I think he’s been great on the pitch this season, is showing much more maturity, and is being very smart in public interviews. More of this is needed here as Cucurella goes from headless to sensible!
Have a good weekend all, I am just hoping for a weekend of Solly not being unwell but that’s a lot to ask for these days! I’ll jump on the Substack App for any big updates, and will have the live discussion thread on for our next game against Leicester this Sunday at 2pm. I’ll be back on the site then too.
Peace, Si.
