The Chelsea FC Newsletter: Friday 3rd January 2025!
Morning all!
We have reached the weekend, and the end of a busy festive period draws in. It’s been a bad one for Chelsea really as they go through a sticky patch, but let’s hope that is all it was.
Saturday is a chance for Enzo Maresca and Chelsea’s players to test their bounce-back-ability, because it is so important we show that at this crucial part of the season. We are holding on to our top four place at the moment, but a win at Crystal Palace on Saturday will go a long way to keeping a stronghold on that and showing the people that this was just a sticky patch. I have many words ahead of the game here.
Speaking about our sticky patch, The Score has dropped by for his THIRD article for us this week in which I am hugely grateful for as it’s been a busy week of things going on. Score has asked why results have tailed off lately and looks at the data for the answers in here. Big thanks to Score for his contributions this week :)
A transfer rumour that has been going around the last few weeks surrounds Axel Disasi and his Chelsea future. Will he still be here come the end of January? What is his desire? What is the club’s desire? Which clubs are interested in signing him THIS month? Find all of that out and more in here.
Time for a bit of a moan now, because sometimes you just have to. I was absolutely gutted that we sold Lewis Hall at the time, and I was vocal about it then. I’m even more vocal about it now after he is having an incredible season with Newcastle United. It was a HUGE mistake letting Hall go, and the data and eye test also proves that. I have the stats, words, and more in here.
Round up all of your latest Chelsea news from across the last 24 hours in the same place in here. This covers all your transfer rumours, quotes, interviews, and more!
Have a good weekend all, and I’ll jump on the Substack App if any big stories come out. Otherwise, I’ll see you back on the site on Sunday to review the Palace game and more.
Peace, Si.
Yes it has been a bad one and if Maresca insists on picking Disasi at right back and only playing Caicedo and Fernandez in midfield we will lose a lot more.
I sure agree with you on Hall. Huge error.
