The Chelsea FC Newsletter: Monday 1st April 2024!
Morning all,
So my slight bit of optimism that grew back inside me disappeared completely yet again on Saturday afternoon, and I am sure that many of you are fully with me on that.
I’m still in total disbelief that we twice threw away a lead against 10-man Burnley at home to only draw the game. We could have even lost it late on! It’s completely unacceptable and inexcusable, and I have vented more in my match report here.
George Simms of inews got it pretty much spot on, or at least close to spot on, with his analysis of not on the game yesterday, but the much wider picture of how our squad build has been naive at best, as I have said many times. Frank Leboeuf has also once again been venting at the owners and says they have ‘destroyed’ this club. You can read all about that and cover the rest of the Chelsea news from across Sunday in here.
Then as if things couldn’t get any worse, late on Saturday night out comes a story claiming Chelsea are planning to sell captain Reece James in the summer. Surely not, right? Absolutely no chance, right? Well, you might want to click here and read what a collection of my sources are saying about it….
I also had some sourced updates on Chelsea’s injuries this season with some news on the latest. You can read about James, Malo Gusto, Ben Chilwell, Romeo Lavia, Christopher Nkunku, and more in here.
And finally, an article from me on Mauricio Pochettino’s comments in his pre-match press conference for Burnley. Some of the comments he made really did grind on me, so I had to vent on that as well in here.
I’ll be on the live blog again from around 8.30am this morning and I am ready to take your comments on the game, the current situation, and anything else you want to speak about or vent on, or of course, if you want to offer some positivity too, feel free. We take all views on here!
Peace, Si.
