Romelu Lukaku: Three-peat? My thoughts

My thoughts on Romelu Lukaku and the discussions around his future.....

Good Evening Ladies and Gents,

Today I wanted to have my say and opinion on the discussions around Romelu and a three-peat of his services. Similarly to my opinion on a Jose Mourinho Three-peat, lets stay well clear. For different reasons to Jose……..

Lukaku is undoubtedly a top class striker, when he fancies it. His original return to Chelsea received so much hype and quite honestly I was as buzzing about a transfer as I had ever been.

Around 3 months later that had all changed and the cynical side of me still thinks there was a pre-agreement between Inter and Lukaku to come here for 100m kick up a fuss knowing we would have to move him on and then return effectively for free the next season, Inter are renowned for their financial issues over the last few years.

For somebody who supposedly loved the club and grew up supporting us and his absolute idol and now friend Didier Drogba, he did nothing but treat us with disrespect, I know I sound like a bitter old man and that everybody deserves a second chance but for Lukaku this wouldn’t be a second chance, he has done this at pretty much every club he has ever played for and he is not the sort of character we need around our young and impressionable squad.

Unfortunately, he would actually really suit us from a footballing point of view now in my opinion but there are far too many cons that outweigh the pros of a Lukaku return.

We need to sell him for whatever we can, cut ties and forget he ever existed to be honest. That sounds extreme but he is not worth the hassle of what he brings and the negatives that he can effect.

I am really intrigued on other peoples opinions and reasons behind those opinions and whether my inability to forgive is blurring my vision.

At the end of the day Chelsea are my club as they are all of you and once somebody disrespects your club thats it, any admiration you had turns into dislike and sometimes hated, it is the same as if somebody disrespects your family…..
