Omari Hutchinson - Southampton (A) - 0-1 (W) - 19/09/2023
Brief overview:
Omari lined up in his first league start for Ipswich on the left wing, coming up against Kyle Walker-Peters, a tough opponent.
He gave KWP a torrid time, as a full-back who naturally likes to play high up the pitch Omari nailed him back in to this own half and gave him lots to think about. Omari was happy to drive down to the byline and cross the ball in or cut back and find a pass.
His goal was excellent, winning the ball back from a brilliant sliding tackle, he was then fed through before drilling the ball in to the bottom right corner, on the slide (link below).
He was robbed of an assist, from an excellent inswinging corner, which was turnt in by Conor Chaplin, was ruled out for a foul on the defender, no foul in my view and unlucky for Omari.
I really feel like Chelsea have picked the perfect loan for Omari, he is getting the right amount of starts and sub appearances whilst learning the men’s game, I am going to watch Ipswich v Wolves next Tuesday and hope to see Omari first hand.

Hear from the man himself:
"I’m buzzing – first start and a first goal. I played just shy of 80 mins and I worked really hard. It’s about working hard, working to get the ball back and then also expressing yourself, which is what I tried to do."
Summary:
A great start to life in senior football for Omari, and all of the Ipswich players are commenting on how hard he trains and the work-rate he puts in.
It seems like he has an excellent mentality and will to make it, Chelsea can help him along the way and Ipswich are giving him an excellent platform to enter the Men’s game.
