Outgoings - An update
Some news on Gallagher, Zouma, Bakayoko, Emerson, Zappacosta, Barkley, and Arrizabalaga
As I wrote about here, Chelsea do need to move some players out on loan or on permanent deals before they can really get their official offers to sign new players in themselves, but fear not, we’ve already made £50m in player sales this summer so things are looking great in that sense.
But where are we with other potential departures? Here are some updates..
Kurt Zouma
Everton and Roma have enquired for Zouma this summer, who is believed to be weighing up his options this season. He loves Chelsea, but he is keen to be a regular starter and knows that is unlikely here.
Other clubs are showing interest as well, and as far as I know, neither Roma or Everton are yet to advance on their enquiries.
Tiemoue Bakayoko
AC Milan really want to sign him on a permanent deal, and he is keen to go there as well. The fee is being talked about between the two clubs right now, and Bakayoko also has interest from other clubs in Italy, including Napoli.
Emerson Palmieri
Chelsea at the moment have put a price tag on Emerson around £22m, and interested clubs believe this is too steep and are trying to negotiate a deal. Chelsea will probably come down in price, but at the moment there has been stand offs with a couple of interested clubs, namely Napoli, who are the most keen on signing him.
Conor Gallagher
Newcastle and Crystal Palace have both enquired about signing Gallagher on loan, and that is Chelsea’s preference. I haven’t been told the club want to sell him permanently, but again, after the Guehi saga nothing would surprise me now.
I believe Newcastle at least are in talks with Gallagher’s reps, but Palace really like him as well.
Davide Zappacosta
A lot like Emerson, at the moment clubs are not interested in paying his asking price, but again, I believe this is something that will come down as time ticks on as Chelsea know they must bring some more transfer fees in.
Ross Barkley
He has had some loan enquiries this summer, but there has been no real progression on anything as of yet.
Kepa Arrizabalaga
Nothing has advanced for Kepa either at this point, but Lazio remain one of the teams interested in signing him on loan, but there was some difference in negotiations on who would pay what percentage of his wages. I’ve heard nothing more since.
There are many other players who have loan or permanent deals in the pipeline, but these are the only ones I’ve had info on for now. Will update as and when.
