Marc Cucurella turns boos into songs, Enzo Fernandez reacts to losing spot in best possible way, Andrey Santos the captain? Community give views on Reece James conundrum, News roundups, Much more...
The Chelsea FC Newsletter: Tuesday 26th November 2024!
Morning all,
Hope you had a good Monday and are just as pleased as me about having Chelsea back! We play Thursday too!
We are almost at the end of November now about to head into the busy festive period. This is when we will see more benefits of our large squad and deep quality competition. I feel Enzo Fernandez’ performance against Leicester City showed this and he stepped up ready to fight for his starting spot. I was very pleased to see this reaction, as I touch on in here to open things up for today.
Speaking of competition and a large squad, Chelsea have been watching the performances of Andrey Santos very closely this season whilst on loan again with Strasbourg. On Saturday night, he was named captain for the first time at the age of 20. Despite the loss against Nice, Santos did his job well. Some more words and stats on the Brazilian in here.
Marc Cucurella has completely changed his fortunes at Chelsea. From fan hate to fan favourite, Cucurella has gone from being booed to being sung at on Saturday after the Leicester game. And he heard our fans loud and clear. Words from myself and Cucurella in here as well as asking you guys if you have now changed your stance on him.
Over the weekend I asked you all what you thought would be the best course of action for Reece James after his latest injury. It’s just getting ridiculous now, but the community here are unsure and very split on what to do with James. Thankfully, it’s a decision we don’t have to make as fans and also, a decision that will not be needed to be made until the summer anyway. Poll results and more words on James in here.

Peace, Si.
It’s a shame that we have to talk about “fan hate”, isn’t it? Anyone who writes here or anywhere else about our players in a way that can be described as “hate” isn’t a fan at all and should go elsewhere.
I was a strong critic of Jackson last season. We are entitled to do so. I didn’t use any hateful language. I’ve always wanted he best for him, that he would score a hat trick every week! I was frustrated by the important missed chances but that was all.
Now, I fully accept that there is a marked improvement since then. His goal on Saturday was quality and, equally important, he managed to keep out of the referee’s ear!
To repeat my main point, though. No true fan should ever be so gormless as to use “hateful” language towards our players. Criticise by all means but try to be constructive, too.
