Good Evening, Ladies and Gents,
Welcome back to the 23/24 season loan army report. This is a summary of what our loan players have been up to over the last week or so.
Remember I don’t include players who are out on loan with a Buy Option.
Lets get into it……
Gaga Slonina:
Gaga has been on fine form over the last couple of weeks, 2 clean sheets in 3 appearances and a very narrow defeat to Charleroi. He is really coming into his own and making a difference to his side now!
Bashir Humphreys:
Bash has played 250 out of a possible 270 mins over the last couple of weeks, his Swansea side are in very poor form at the minute, but they are adapting to a new manager and a new style.
Tino Anjorin:
Tino is still injured, due back very soon.
Omari Hutchinson:
I have watched Omari’s last 2 games, one of which I was actually at the stadium for, the first of these games was Leicester away, he came on with 20 minutes to play and Ipswich were 1-0 down, he was excellent when he came on and took the game by the scruff of the neck, alongside Jeremy Sarmiento (Brighton on loan to IPS).
His next game was against Maidstone United in the FA Cup, I was at this game doing a scouting report on a couple of players, but whilst I was doing that I was keeping a keen eye on Omari, he started really strongly, getting 2/3 early shots off, with the keeper making one excellent save, he put in some excellent crosses as well, it just wasn’t Ipswich’s day.
He is really blossoming, his style really reminds me of Riyad Mahrez, not the quickest and defenders know what he’s going to do but stopping it is another question!
Harvey Vale:
Si released an excellent article on Harvey the other day which is a MUST read here if you haven’t already.
On to his last few games, Harvey is continuing to flourish, playing 90 in 2 of his last 3 games as well as one game where he was rested and came off the bench for 22 mins. He scored in his last match and continues to play incredibly well!
Charlie Webster:
A 16 minute cameo in his last couple of games, this loan isn’t going to plan in my mind, I am surprised this loan wasn’t terminated.
Mason Burstow:
Mason didn’t feature last week v Hull, he was an unused sub. He then started the following game after some brilliant training performances according to his manager. He went on to start, play 77 minutes and scored a goal v Stoke.
See Mason’s goal here; 0.42 seconds
David Datro Fofana:
Datro played his first game for Burnley after a long wait, he came off the bench away to Man City, he got an assist which was a brilliant dribble in behind the full back and squared the ball to the goalscorer.
Angelo Gabriel:
Angelo has started the last 3 games for Strasbourg of which they are unbeaten, but no real standout performances and he has been subbed on the hour mark twice, and 76th minute once.
His goal contributions have dried up of late.
Dion Rankine:
Dion had a couple of games in succession on the bench recently which in my view was necessary as he has played a lot of football since his injury, he then came back in to the starting XI and played 80 mins last weekend, in a 2-1 away win v Barnsley.
Alex Matos:
Alex has continued his starting streak for his new club in recent games, he is still acclimatising to his new club but a lot of their fans on Twitter seem very happy with the young midfielder. Huddersfield’s manager has just been sacked, so it will be interesting to see how whoever replaces him takes Alex.
Jamie Cumming:
Jamie had started 2 of the last 3 games, with Oxford in pretty poor form he hasn’t been able to keep a clean sheet yet, in the last game he was subbed at half time in the last game due to injury
Eddie Beach:
Eddie has started the last couple of games which has seen one draw and one win for his Gateshead side, I haven’t been able to find any information on how he has performing there but I will be trying to find information on him before next week’s report.
Ian Maatsen:
Ian is flying in Dortmund, German football seems to really suit him, he has been excellent so far with still some question marks over his defensive ability but he is certainly showing his attacking prowess.
Thanks for reading.
Luke Rushbrook
Fantastic review and thank you Luke. It’s great to see and hear about those players. There are two or three that should come back and play for us in the not too distant future. Could Harvey Vale be our back up left fallback. Could Humphries fill the missing position at Centre half and save us a lot of money!
Great work Luke!!! 👏👏👏👏
