Good Afternoon, Ladies and Gents,
Welcome back to the 23/24 season loan army report. This is a summary of what our loan players have been up to over the last few weeks.
Remember I don’t include players who are out on loan with a Buy Option.
Lets get into it……
Gaga Slonina:
Gaga has been in fine form recently, putting in 2 man of the match performances over the last 3 matches, keeping one clean sheet and making lots of saves across the way.
He is growing in stature every time I report on him, his confidence seems to be high, it is excellent to see him performing well for quite a poor team.
Bashir Humphreys:
Bash is still struggling with injured and hasn’t featured in over a month, hopefully he will be back in the coming weeks.
Tino Anjorin:
Tino is still injured, due back very soon.
Omari Hutchinson:
An excellent February for Omari has seen him win Championship Player of the Month, which is incredibly impressive considering he only started 3 times during the month, coming off the bench in the other 3 games.
He contributed to some really important goals whether scoring or setting them up. Returning 5 G/A through the month. Averaging a G/A every 53 minutes.
Since then he has started 2 of the 3 games this month so far, no returns yet but two decent performances from the start and one lesser performance from the bench.
Harvey Vale:
4 starts in a row for Harvey, no goal returns to mention as of yet but since his illness he seems to have returned where he left off, putting in solid performances and playing loads of minutes.
Bristol Rovers have been very streaky with their form recently and currently sit 11 points off the playoffs, a run of form now could see them throw their name in the hat but it may be a little too late for Harvey’s team.
Charlie Webster:
Charlie came off the bench for 6 mins in a 4-0 win v bottom side FC Volendam, he has been an unused sub in the 2 matches since.
Mason Burstow:
Mason is still in a very stop start phase at Sunderland, he has been an unused sub twice, came off the bench for 5 minutes once and started once in the last 4 games.
A young player striving to make a point, but it is very hard to do so with such inconsistent minutes.
David Datro Fofana:
DDF has fully secured his place in Burnley’s starting XI, I even saw one fan tweet that he should be their player of the season, which is pretty funny/incredible considering such a short time he has been there.
They are a very poor side, he has done well to return 4 goal involvements in 5 starts and 7 overall appearances, they have played Man City, Liverpool & Arsenal in that time also.
His goal at the weekend was absolutely excellent, see below;

Angelo Gabriel:
Angelo has been unavailable in recent weeks due to a groin injury, I am unsure how severe the injury is, but it seems to be weeks rather than months.
Dion Rankine:
Dion has played less minutes recently, having been unused twice, and on the bench for a further 2 games.
Alex Matos:
Alex has been in and out of the team recently, he has started one game, come off the bench twice at HT when Huddersfield have needed the game to change and in the last game he came off the bench for 15 minutes at 4-1 down.
Jamie Cumming:
Jamie’s team have had a really difficult run of games of late, culminating in 5-0 defeat to Bolton on Tuesday night.
Its been a tough loan for Jamie so far, with just the one clean sheet. Oxford are just out of the play offs by a point and could still be fighting for promotion come May.
Eddie Beach:
Since illness, Eddie has been unable to retain his position in the team and is yet to feature for over a month.
Ian Maatsen:
Ian has continued to perform well and scored his first goal for Dortmund a couple of weeks ago. I have watched his last couple of games and he seems to have improved on the ball and is playing with confidence.
HE is still getting caught out a little bit defensively but there has been improvements, mainly based around his positioning. Hummels tends to play next to him and he doesn’t have the pace to get round and cover to get him out of trouble if needed.
Armando Broja
Armando has played 18 minutes across the last 3 games in a loan that has not gone well, Rodrigo Muniz has turnt into prime R9 since Broja walked in to the building.
Fulham have triggered the higher loan fee, having to pay Chelsea 4m for the loan.
Andrey Santos
Andrey has been an unused sub in the last 3 games, Strasbourg are on an awful run of form of late.
People do need to remember that we bought Andrey from a 2nd tier Brazilian team and have so far asked him to play in 2 of the top 5 leagues in Europe and adjust instantly.
An excellent talent with a massively high ceiling but in my opinion he needed a 2nd tier loan or a season in PL2.
Thanks for reading.

Thanks this is a great section and something I will look forward to. Do you think as we brought to the end of the year you might consider your views on what should be done with each of these players next season. For example, perhaps phone again, and if so, at what level (ie which league), kept at CFC and with which team or sold. It would be great to get your insight.
