Good Evening, Ladies and Gents,
Welcome back to the 23/24 season loan army report. This is a summary of what our loan players have been up to over the last week or so.
Remember I don’t include players who are out on loan with a Buy Option.
Lets get into it……
Gaga Slonina:
A friendly match this week for Gaga’s side as they prepare for a return to league action following the winter break. They lost 3-1 to Schalke
Bashir Humphreys:
Bash played 73 minutes of Swansea’s 2-2 draw away at Birmingham.
A really solid performance from Bash before being withdrawn.
Cesare Casadei:
Casadei was rewarded after his MOTM performance last week, with a start in the league this week. Wilfried Ndidi is currently out injured which should hopefully increase Cesare’s minutes.
Unfortunately for Casadei his leicester side lost 3-1 away to Coventry, he was booked and had a fairly average performance.
Tino Anjorin:
Tino is still injured, due back by the end of January.
Omari Hutchinson:
Omari came on and played 23 minutes in Ipswich’s win v Sunderland, he was very threatening at 1-1 and constantly run at his defender. After the goal he showed good defensive discipline which helped Ipswich see the win out.
Harvey Vale:
Another 2 x 90 minutes for Harvey in the last week, unfortunately both games ended in defeat. In the league his Rovers side went to Barnsley and lost 2-1. They then hosted Norwich in an FA Cup replay which they lead for a long portion, unfortunately quality previled and the higher league opposition in Norwich ended up winning 3-1.
Charlie Webster:
Unused sub for Charlie again this week
Diego Moreira:
Last week I raised a poll on Diego’s loan and 64% of you voted that we recall and keep Diego around the PL2 side whilst training with the first team.
Mason Burstow:
Mason came on for the final couple of minutes away to Ipswich, he didn’t really get a touch of the ball or a chance to show anything.
David Datro Fofana:
DDF has now joined Burnley on loan, they don’t play again until 31st January which will give DDF over 2 weeks of training time with his new club.
Angelo Gabriel:
Angelo played 78 minutes in the 1-1 draw away to Marseille. He didn’t have much joy but showed some glimpses of his ability and being able to take games by the scruff of the neck.
Dion Rankine:
Dion played 70 minutes in Exeter’s 2-0 loss away to Blackpool, he is putting in some good performances and consistently starting since his injury, he is building some real momentum.
Alex Matos:
Alex played 67 minutes for Huddersfield in the 1-1 draw with Plymouth, he is still settling in on his first loan spell and 2 consecutive starts is a good sign to how he is settling.
Jamie Cumming:
Jamie started his first game for Oxford, making 7 saves and getting an 8.4/10 in their 3-1 win away to Carlisle.
Eddie Beach:
Eddie was on the bench this week for a cup fixture, seems to be the no.2 plays in the cup.
Ian Maatsen:
Ian played the full 90 on his debut for Dortmund, playing at Left Back and performing well, he got boooked and his side won 3-0.
Thanks for reading.
Luke Rushbrook
As always thanks Luke for the informative update’s especially on Maatsen.
Makes me wonder if Dortmund can play him at left back why couldn’t Poche?
Thanks for the updates
