Ladies and Gents,
Welcome back to the 23/24 season loan army report. This is a summary of what our loan players have been up to since the international break.
We are quite low on minutes this week within the loan army, so no individual player report will be released this week, most of the players below will have had 2 or 3 more matches before my next report which will give me a larger sample size to release individual reports.
Lets get into it……
Gaga Slonina:
Another 4-1 loss for Gaga’s Eupen side at the weekend, there are some real positives about this loan but also some negatives are starting to appear. The positives are that Gaga is standing up and being counted albeit in a poor side, he is also making a lot of saves. The negatives are the side we have loaned him to are very poor defensively and we could maybe have picked a better destination for him, especially when the club have such high hopes for him!
He made 6 saves at the weekend, had a 91% pass completion, 10 recoveries and had 56 touches.
Bashir Humphreys:
After a successful international break Bash was straight back into the thick of Championship life with a home match vs league leading, record breaking Leicester City, who ultimately won the game 3-1.
Bash played LCB in a back 4, completed 90 minutes. He had a 96% pass accuracy (52/54), 64 touches, 100% tackle success, 9 defensive actions and won 1/2 ground duels. A solid performance again from Bash, against very good opposition.
Zak Sturge:
Zak featured from the bench yet again for Peterborough, coming on for 26 minutes v Wycombe at home in a 2-2 draw.
He completed 100% of his passes, had 24 touches and made 3 recoveries. His dribbling duel numbers were poor however, but it is hard to come off the bench in a tight game and get up to speed instantly!
Andrey Santos:
Andrey was again an unused sub for Forest, I am worried about his attitude and training performances as Cheikou Kouyate and Ryan Yates both seem to be ahead of him in the pecking order. No matter whether he is a loan player or not Forest need/want to win games and will play their best/most on form players, no matter who they are.
I can see a January recall for Andrey and maybe him taking up a European loan in the 2nd part of the season, the Santos I saw in pre-season is far too good for Forest, which is why I am concerned about attitude/training!
Cesare Casadei:
I have maintained on each of these reports I have done that I am worried about this loan, Casadei was an unused sub in Leicester’s 3-1 win over Swansea, Hamza Choudhury has seemingly moved above Casadei in the pecking order as he has featured ahead of OR as well as the Italian in the last few matches.
Leicester do have a midweek fixture which I am hoping Casadei will start and play 90 minutes in, lets hope so!
Tino Anjorin:
After his goal last time out Tino started in Portsmouth’s home win v Carlisle on Saturday, playing 58 mins before being taken off, Portsmouth are still slowly bringing him back in after that lengthy lay off.
He created 4 chances, had 43 touches and won 2/2 aerial duels! He is starting to show signs of getting back to his best!
Omari Hutchinson:
No game for Omari this week as Ipswich’s fixture v Rotherham was postponed on Friday night due to bad weather, a midweek fixture awaits.
Harvey Vale:
Harvey played another 90 mins at Left back for bristol Rovers this weekend, they were heavily beaten by Burton Albion, losing 4-1.
Harvey had his worst game for Rovers from what I have read and seen, I am sure he will right that wrong in his next match, he is still playing in an unfamiliar position.
Charlie Webster:
Charlie was an unused sub again, he is still trying to earn his manager’s trust back again by the looks of it, I am positive it won’t take him long to do so.
Diego Moreira:
Diego was not involved for Lyon this weekend, unsure why at this stage.
Mason Burstow:
For the first time since joining the club Mason was on the bench for Saturday’s away fixture v Stoke, he came on on the 66th minute.
The final 3rd of the match was dominated by Stoke and Mason barely had any of the ball or an opportunity to do anything with it.
As for all of our boys playing in the EFL there is a full midweek fixture list over Tuesday and Wednesday evening.
David Datro Fofana:
DDF was part of a triple substitution at HT in Union Berlin’s home fixture v Stuttgart, they were 1-0 down at the break when DDF entered the pitch, the game finished 3-0 to Stuttgart
He missed 1 big chance and only had 25 touches in 45 minutes, a promising pre-season is faltering away, Berlin’s league form has been pretty poor.
Angelo Gabriel:
Angelo was limited to a substitute appearance of 29 minutes this weekend as Strasbourg travelled to PSG, Strasbourg ended up losing the match 3-0.
Angelo did have a good impact from the bench, completing 90% of his passes, having 22 touches, completing 3/3 dribbles and creating 1 chance for his teammates.
Dion Rankine
Dion is still currently out injured.
Thanks for reading.
Luke Rushbrook
Thanks Luke I love these reports. It’s really good to know how each of the individual players is getting on.
Thanks Luke. Generally it is not going well apart from Omari (Harvey Vale good up to this game). Particularly disappointing about Santos and Casedai. Slolnina looks a really bad loan as well as you say. This is a bit of a worry as I am sure the owners are looking to ship them on at a profit (none of them are going to play for Chelsea lets be frank! - I thought Santos might but hopes are fading). I think a loan to an Italian club for Casedai is a gimme. Santos may need to come back to Chels - but the issue is, of course, he needs game time. Cannot see him getting a lot at the moment.
