The Chelsea FC Newsletter: Monday 19th December 2023!
Morning everyone!
It’s the big match day today and this one really is huge.
It’s a chance for Chelsea to win a trophy this season and to also get a route into European qualification.
The Blues welcome Newcastle United to Stamford Bridge tonight for the 8pm kick off, and a place in the League Cup semi-finals up for grabs.
It’s a tough opposition for sure, but a team who have been equally as inconsistent as we have been in recent matches and could well be there for the taking. I wouldn’t say I’m overly confident, but you can get my full preview, team news, head-to-head, Xl predictions, and score predictions in here as we build up to the main event tonight!
Before we attack this game though, some final thoughts back to our win against Sheffield United on Saturday. I had our new analyst Seun take a look at the deep tactical side of the game and how it was won in the end in here. As always, Seun brings his detailed videos and images to accompany the explanations and dissecting of what happened during the game.
We also had the latest exclusive column from Ben Jacobs out yesterday which you can read in full here. Ben covered ‘Chelsea tracking Juventus CB, £50m Gallagher IS up for sale, Blues defender is NOT for sale, Transfer updates on Echeverri, Toney, Osimhen, Gyokeres, Nusa, Maatsen, Chalobah, and more..’
After his hugely popular article for us last week, The Score is back with another banger. He has once again dug deep into his heart and written a passionate piece on how Chelsea needs to rediscover it’s soul. Once again, another fine piece from The Score here.
As it was Monday yesterday, it also meant that Luke was back with his daily articles for us. Luke decided to address a number of the current issues and media speculation going on surrounding Conor Gallagher being up so sale next month, Lewis Hall being eligible to play against Chelsea tonight, Noni Madueke situation, and Reece James’s injuries. Check it out in full here.
As always, you can get all your latest Chelsea news from across the last 24 hours including the build up to tonight and everything Mauricio Pochettino had to say in his pre-match press conference in here.
Another SIX articles for you all today for a bit of a match day treat!!
That’s it for now. I’ll be on the live blog all day today right up until the game tonight. And then I’ll have my post-match debrief review out not long after the game ends tonight. I totally forgot to start a discussion thread on the Substack App chat on Saturday, so I will remember to do that tonight! Be there and be on the blog today to get all your build up and team news leading up to kick off!
Peace, Si.
