LATEST! Wimbledon win, Academy players aware of Poch chances, Changing injury culture, 25-man squad for Poch? Latest polls, Cole Palmer to Chelsea!!
The Chelsea FC Newsletter: Thursday 31st August 2023!
Morning all,
I’m waking up in London this morning after being at Stamford Bridge last night watch the Chelsea game.
The Blues beat Wimbledon 2-1 in The League Cup after a dodgy and tough game really. But Chelsea did the job!
I will do my match review/debrief this morning as I know the game wasn’t on TV, so look out for that very soon.
I did put a few reactions of mine and others on the live blog from yesterday and I also rounded up ALL the latest Chelsea news and transfer rumours late last night, so do check that out here first and foremost. Cole Palmer to Chelsea info in this as well, the news that we exclusively bought you ten days ago!!
With just two days left of the transfer window now, Chelsea’s squad is taking shape. Mauricio Pochettino always mentioned that he ideally wants a 23/24 man squad, and it looks like he is going to get very close to that. Take a look at that one here.
To make your decisions on the final bits of business and any other last minute rumours we are hearing about, please take part in the latest set of polls here. This also has some reflection questions on the window too as things finally wind down.
As well as that, I had three more articles out yesterday. One to begin with here on how academy players at Chelsea will be fully aware that they will get every chance to get a call up from Mauricio Pochettino this season and how that will be giving them all renewed goals this season.
And finally for this newsletter, it’s time to change the injury culture at the club, but how do we do that? What is the issue and what can we do to have a mainly injury-free squad for the rest of this season? I’ve pondered it all in here.
Today we are recording the latest Podcast episode and it will be that man Jai Mcintosh hosting of course as he gets well into his new role with us. We will review the game last night and chat about any last minute plans in the transfer window! Check the live blog today for timings! I’ll start the live blog this morning as usual, but It’ll be a little on and off a bit until I get home later on as I’m traveling back from London now very soon!
Peace, Si.
Si, can I just say that I only got to listen to last weeks podcast yesterday, but Jai is a brilliant choice & a great host. The guest last week wasn’t bad either😉
