The Chelsea FC Newsletter: Monday 22nd May 2023

Morning everyone,

I am waking up in Manchester of all places this morning after staying here last night after the game. I witnessed Chelsea’s game against City alongside our very own Charlie who helps me on the site here! We knew we would be witnessing a defeat, but it was just nice to spend some time with Charlie, let’s take the positives!

I will be doing my write up on the experience and the game this morning in my Booking.com (no I don’t get sponsored by them, just for interest’s sake) apartment before setting off back home to Somerset embarking on another 4 hour journey in the trusty Kia C’eed! The things we do for our club, right!?

First of all today, a spot of housekeeping to go through. I will be away from Wednesday this week just for a week. But fear not, we have plans to keep bringing you content in many forms this week and next week until I return on the Thursday, and Charlie is going to be a massive reason for this. Hear what he, Macca, Ben Jacobs, and maybe Rob Pratley will be doing in my absence here. The importance of having a top team!

Before we get to the juicy sourced news, I rounded up all the news from Sunday in one place here when I got back to my apartment last night after the game. So please do check that out here.

Two sourced stories now. The first one is on Pochettino already deciding who he intends to sell in this current Chelsea squad and some outgoing updates here.

The next one has A LOT of info in it on a number of players and situations, it’s mainly centered around arrivals, strikers to be specific, but there’s a lot more in here than just that.

Finally for today, I have an article on Wesley Fofana written off the back of his impressive interview with Sky Sports on Friday. I think he is showing elements of potentially becoming a good captain for Chelsea in the future, and boy do we need those. More on that here.

Today as I’ll be traveling back I’m going to start off the live blog first thing and update it until around 11am ish, and then I won’t be able to update it until deep in to the afternoon when I get home hopefully around 3/4pm ish UK time.
