The Chelsea FC Newsletter: Tuesday July 18th!
Morning all,
Chelsea landed in the USA late yesterday in order to begin the real pre-season work. The training started a couple of weeks ago now, but the games start this week with Wrexham in the early hours of Thursday morning.
I’ve had a look at a realistic lineup possibility for that game here, with two new signings starting.
But I have a big sourced/preview article on the pre-season here, which explains why and how Chelsea are in such a better place than they were this time last summer and how different things are. In this, I go through all the issues we faced last summer and why our pre-season then went on to directly effect what was a terrible season for the club.
For more sourced transfer news next, head to our exclusive article from by Ben Jacobs here, where he rounds up all the latest Chelsea transfer news including updates on the Moises Caicedo deal.
Staying on the subject of Caicedo, I’ve seen a bit of anger creeping in now on why this deal is taking so long, and also frustrations of repeated reports on it. As I’ve always said on this, I understand frustrations, but we also need to accept the reality of big deals and the complexity that goes in to them. I’m calm on this deal and still believe it will get done, but we do have to just offer up a little bit more patience as we await the conclusion, as I fully explain here.
Finally, as always, you can round up all the latest Chelsea news and transfer rumours across various sources including from our own, in the live blog here.
Remember, we run the blog every day from Monday to Friday, and the latest will be cranked up from around 8am today on the home page, so do join me there and check in on it throughout the day!
Peace, Si.
