The Chelsea FC Newsletter: Wednesday 14th June 2023
The weather has really been warming up this week in the UK with some scorching temperatures. And right on cue, as the summer transfer window opens today for English clubs, things are well and truly heating up for Chelsea’s transfer business!
The window opening doesn’t mean Chelsea will all of a sudden start some transfer moves. As we know, they have been working on a number of deals over the last few weeks to try and get a head start in the window, so we should be seeing some of these come to fruition soon. Could one of them be Romelu Lukaku departing on a permanent deal? Sounds too good to be true, right? Well, there’s a chance it might happen, so find out more on that entire story here.
I’d head to the live blog next to be honest, because yesterday it was mad with a lot going on. I’ve got it all covered here with every single story and transfer rumour from the last 24 hours.
Another thing on Chelsea’s agenda this week is to hold a meeting with Inter Milan. Lukaku will still be part of these talks, but there will be a number of other players involved in this as well, as Chelsea and Inter look to conduct some business that will benefit both clubs. Some Andre Onana snippets in here too.
Staying on the subject of goalkeepers. I have been addressing one report this week here, and it’s led me to the conclusion that signing a new number one at Chelsea this summer is absolutely imperative. It has to happen, and anyone who thinks we are fine with what we have, I have serious doubts about.
Finally for today, I have some sourced news on Declan Rice and Moises Caicedo. Chelsea are competing with Arsenal for Caicedo, and I have the very latest on that move here.
That’s it for today, but be sure to hit up the live blog from 8am today, things are really starting to happen and every day is busy!
Peace, Si.
