The Chelsea FC Newsletter: Thursday 27th July 2023!
Morning all!
I am waking up in the middle of a field, in the cold and rainy weather, inside a tent, wondering what on earth I am doing here and thinking the next 5 days are going to draaaaaag!!
I’m at music festival called Camp Bestival this weekend, as I explained earlier this week. To recap on that and the content still coming out in my absence, pleased read this here!
In all seriousness, I love a good festival and I’m excited for this one despite the weather being horrific when we setup camp yesterday. The forecast is much better for the weekend.
Anyway, Chelsea…. And whilst I was holding my tent down against the wind and rain over night, Chelsea were in action against Newcastle for their next pre-season game. At the time of writing this, I am not aware of the result. But Will Reyner had you guys covered with the match report, that should have landed in your emails over night! Hope I wake up to good news this morning!
I had some articles out for you all before I left, of course. And a couple of them are sourced articles.
One here to begin with on Mohammed Kudus, Rayan Cherki, and Michael Olise.
The next one here is on Conor Gallagher and Trevoh Chalobah, with a lot being said about their futures this week. A lot to address in this one.
The frustrations are starting to creep in now regarding Chelsea’s lack or urgency in signing new players, or lack of speed in doing so. And I completely feel that and share those frustrations. Patience is really starting to be tested, including my own, and more importantly, Mauricio Pochettino’s. Read all about that here.
But not only is Pochettino and myself concerned right now, so is the community. I have sensed it in comments all this week, and that is coming from the most balanced and calm set of Chelsea fans I know, so that says a lot. I’ve polled it out here to gauge the feeling in the community this week to see where we are at. Some transfer decisions to make in this as well.
I started the live blog yesterday and Luke finished it, so do make sure you check that out here to get all your latest Chelsea news in one place! This will have anything new that came out after I left!
Also, I did a solo transfer Podcast yesterday morning before I left, so please do check that out here if you haven’t already!
Right, I’ll leave you all now in the capable hands of our amazing team here - Luke, Charlie, Rob, Will, and The Score. Luke will be running blogs today and tomorrow, and he will be starting Monday’s for me too. The rest of the lads will be doing what they can by releasing articles etc, and Luke will be checking in with Rob and myself for the live blogs if anything big goes down or I have any news to deliver. Some articles may get sent to your emails, but I encourage you to check the website and live blog every day, because the normal newsletters wont be going out, but the content will still be going up!
Right, I’ll speak to you all again on Monday! Hope you all have a cracking few days! As always, UTC!
Peace, Si.
We’ve now got Enzo liking twitter posts about how it would be a failure not to get him the partner he needs....Chelsea are on a slippery slope right now. Poch is becoming frustrated, the players are getting frustrated...
