The Chelsea FC Newsletter: Monday 17th July 2023!
Morning all,
I hope you all enjoyed your weekend and had fun watching some of the various other sporting events that were on. I caught a lot of Wimbledon Tennis this year and really enjoyed watching the big showdown between Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz yesterday - two immense athletes and mentality monsters.
Anyways, back to the football now and Chelsea are off on their pre-season tour of the USA today with our first game back coming up on Thursday!
Some frustrations still around a lack of new signings in time to head out on tour with us, although they can obviously still join the squad over there. No more frustration than the Moises Caicedo deal, which is a big deal to do and is taking some time. I have some sourced news on that one here.
I also have a sourced story on strikers and the plans for a new one this summer here, this also covers some intentions from Mauricio Pochettino to take a look at what he has already in the squad.
Romelu Lukaku has had the headlines all weekend though and once again, not for the right reasons. It looks like he’s annoyed Inter Milan now as well and could well be on his way to Juventus instead. He returns to Cobham today but will not be flying out on the tour, and I have my views on that clown here.
We had the latest exclusive column from former Chelsea captain Frank Leboeuf out on Friday and in case anyone missed it, you can catch that here. Really enjoyed this one, and there is some thanks from Frank directly to the club for them using his shirt in the kit launch last week!
Some in-house news next and we are expanding once again. Another popular name joins us today and is going to be doing some articles with us and maybe even some Podcasts in the coming weeks and months. Check in on that exciting news here.
And finally, rounding up all the Chelsea news from Sunday here to make sure you haven’t missed a thing!
Have a good one, see you all on the live blog today from around 8am!
Peace, Si.
