LATEST! Sourced story on Ivan Toney, Bournemouth review, Chelsea need a DM, Time for Lewis Hall, General news roundup
The Chelsea FC Newsletter: Monday 8th May
Morning all,
We can start our week with a smile for once! And I know many of you will also be enjoying an extra day off today for a Bank Holiday in the UK at least, so double smiles for some!
Chelsea won a game of football, and yes, whether it’s sarcastic or not, I WILL celebrate the heck out of that fact!! We also scored three goals in one game, which is about as rare as Erling Haaland going a game without scoring a goal! Many reasons to smile today and although things have been hideous most of this season, we must take the opportunities to appreciate the good moments, and I’ve done just that in my reflections/review article here.
It’s also my job to analyse, and I will always do that and offer critique when I see it, even if mostly I am just happy to win a game right now. But what Bournemouth’s goal did for me again yesterday was just highlight the need for Chelsea to sign a defensive midfielder this summer, so I was forced to get behind the kit and bang on my drums again here.
Ben Chilwell was also the cause of a dark cloud from a positive and happy day, although through no fault of his own. The left back got injured again and I’d be surprised if he plays again this season. So for me, that only means one thing and that is Lewis Hall must get the nod. I don’t want to see right-footed Cesar Azpilicueta starting when we literally have nothing to lose now, more on that here.
A sourced story next from a collection of my top sources on Ivan Toney to Chelsea. Some key info in this one here that also contains other general transfer news from our sources.
Finally, I rounded up all the general Chelsea news from quotes to transfer rumours that was doing the rounds on Sunday here. All your latest Blues news in one place!
That’s it for now folks, but do join me on the live blog today from 8am, as Bank Holidays don’t exist over here we can on regardless! :)
Peace, Si.
