The Chelsea FC Newsletter: Sunday 27th August 2023!
Morning!
Yes, it IS Sunday, do not panic. You’re getting a newsletter on a Sunday morning for the first time ever!
As I explained this week, today I am best man at my cousins wedding and I will be very busy with that! I will soon be heading to meet him for breakfast and beginning the celebrations. So that has made it impossible for me to be able to do my usual Sunday articles today ready for a Monday morning newsletter. So there will be NO newsletter tomorrow and instead, I’ve bought you one today!
I even ran a live blog yesterday, so as always, that is the place you need to head to in order to get all the latest Chelsea transfer news updates as we head into the final week of the window. Chelsea still want at least one new attacker in the door, but who will it be? Click here for that and much more, including any sourced news I had yesterday. There was also another new signing announced!
I also answer the question above in this article here. I’ve drawn on Pochettino’s comments after our win against Luton in this and seemingly, he wants a jack of all trades in attack. But does such a profile even exist!?
The boys had their first win of the new season on Friday night thrashing Luton Town 3-0. It wasn’t plain sailing but once we really got a hold on the game then it became comfortable. A win is a win, and a clean sheet is a clean sheet. Some big positives to take from this one, and I assess it all and rate the players here in my debrief article.
I wanted to get you guys involved in the above as well so I’ve asked you to rate the players here. In this as well, I’ve asked you to select the starting formation you want to see Pochettino use when everyone is fit, with his current back 3/4 system coming under some criticism even despite the win on Friday. Get involved in this if you haven’t already.
Sticking with the Luton game, there was one thing that I noticed on the captaincy in the last two games really, something that hasn’t really been overly highlighted or noticed. Thiago Silva has been handing his captains armband to Enzo Fernandez in a truly selfless act, read more on that here.
Right so as I said, I won’t be around today. But I think Luke might be doing a Sunday roundup later this evening so do check back in for that. I may or may not be able to send him anything I get today, we will have to see. I see it as unlikely but I’ll try. Otherwise I will be back on the site on Monday morning firing up the live blog whether I am hanging or not! The show must go on!!
Have a good day people!
Peace, Si.
