Wow, what a crazy couple of first days of the summer transfer market opening and not just for Chelsea. There are some pretty major and dramatic deals brewing up across football this summer, and it looks like some clubs are making moves right away. Chelsea are making moves, but we might have to be a little more patient in the coming weeks and months as some deals might hinge on others.

I explain the above a lot more in this article here to kick things off today. Chelsea need to sell players, not necessarily to buy players, but the more we sell early doors the better it will be for our incoming pursuits.

What of the latest on our attempts to sign Moises Caicedo? Well, the race is well and truly on with this one, and it’s well and truly in a proper saga now with PR, agent and club briefings, contrasting stories, and god knows what else going on. Yesterday morning I typed what I knew here. Then come the afternoon, according to other reports at least, the situation seemed to u-turn, as it often does in transfer windows (see live blog for latest on that). Chelsea now reportedly leading this race and Caicedo is keen to join us! My confidence has risen a little more now.

Finally for today. I’m impressed and agree with the majority of the decisions you guys made on this summer’s transfer window in the latest set of polls this week. I’ve gone through them in a write up here to deliver the results and send our messages loud and clear to the Chelsea board!

OK so this weekend as always I won’t be on the site. I’m expecting it to be very busy with news though, so I will check in on the Substack chat on the app if I need to. But I’m only going to do that if something significant happens or if I get any sourced info that I think needs to go out right away. I won’t be commenting on every little report or speculation, because 9 times out of 10 it will lead to nothing! But I promise I’ll jump on if anything significant happens, so like bids, official approaches, stuff like that. Otherwise, I’ll be back on the site Sunday as usual!
