LATEST! Exclusive Ben Jacobs Chelsea column, Cucurella situation, Chance for Ugochukwu, Mudryk performance review, Blues news roundups, and more...
The Chelsea FC Newsletter: Tuesday 12th September 2023!
We’re another day closer to Chelsea returning, thankfully! Last season I was quite relieved to have an international break. But this season I am just eager for us to play again so we can (hopefully) get results on the board. Bournemouth is never an easy place to go and get a result, but we really need to bounce back from the Forest defeat last week. Bring it on.
Some of our lads were in action yesterday in some U21 games with Malo Gusto, Noni Madueke and Cole Palmer (also scored) all grabbing assists, so you can catch up on that, see how they got on, and get ALL your latest Chelsea news covered and reported in one place here.
As always, we had Ben Jacobs join us yesterday for his latest exclusive and extensive Chelsea column. In this here he covers Mudryk feels burdened by price tag, Colwill told he has starting England CB chance, Poch trying to restore serial winning mentality, PL 'approving' sponsorship, and much more….
The Marc Cucurella and Ian Maatsen situation in transfer deadline week was a very puzzling one for me. Seems like there’s a bit more than meets the eye with this. I’ve spoken on it here and added in some of the latest and historical reporting on it by Fabrizio Romano. The bottom line is Chelsea have three left backs in the squad and that’s for from ideal in my humble opinion.
Romeo Lavia was the latest Chelsea player to go down injured last week and although at the moment we do not know the true extent of his injury, putting a positive spin on this situation means there could be a good chance for Lesley Ugochukwu to get some minutes. He’s a real talent but for me needs to play. More on that here.
And the last article for today is the promised scouting report from our man Luke Rushbrook, who happens to be a qualified scout, on Mykhailo Mudryk. It’s been a rough time for the Ukrainian, and I was hoping this time playing for his country might help give him some confidence. Read Luke’s report here.
Right, please do join me on the blog this morning from around 8am as always!
Peace, Si.
