LATEST! CFCW Champions, Newcastle season finale, Levi Colwill, Our podcast, and all the latest news!
The Chelsea FC Newsletter: Monday 29th May 2023
Good morning everyone!
Firstly, a huge congratulations to our Chelsea Women’s side as they have won us a fourth league title in a row with a 3-0 win at Reading on Saturday. They are always doing the club proud.
And on the Men’s side of things, we have finally made it to end of one of our worst seasons in recent history. Although we played well against Newcastle yesterday, this break couldn’t have come soon enough. On a more positive note it was great to see Frank Lampard get the wonderful sendoff that he deserved!
That being said, the focus must immediately turn to preparations for next season. With the impending arrival of Mauricio Pochettino, it is time we start ensuring our squad is ready for him. That means quickly clearing out the players who are no longer needed, making acquisitions to address the spine of our team, and deciding the plans for our returning loanees. And also doing whatever is possible to keep Mason Mount!!!
Of this latest cohort of these returning loanees, Ian Maatsen is someone we have very high hopes for, but Levi Colwill is arguably the cream of the crop. With Colwill’s future becoming a major talking point following his stellar performances, amid off the field noise, we have a sourced article with the latest news on his future. You can check that out here.
Macca also recorded the latest version of our podcast, going solo with a special subscriber Q&A. He covered a wide range of topics, providing balanced and thoughtful responses as always. Although there was no funky intro music, I’d still encourage you to give it a watch/listen here!
I hope to ‘see’ you all on the live blog later this morning as we start to fully embrace the hectic period that is the transfer window.
Up The Chels!
