LATEST! BIG sourced story on midfield revamp plans (Ugarte, Caicedo, Maddison), My anger on Mason Mount saga, Have Chelsea bid for Lionel Messi? Contribution from The Score, Plus more..
The Chelsea FC Newsletter: Monday 5th June 2023
Morning all,
We have some huge articles coming your way this morning, with two particularly interesting ones on Lionel Messi and our midfield revamp plans.
There is a scenario where we might actually see three midfielder arrive at Chelsea this summer depending on outgoings. The midfield, as I reported first last week, has been highlighted as a key area that needs a revamp by Mauricio Pochettino, and that is absolute music to my ears.
There was a lot of exciting reports about our pursuit to sign Manuel Ugarte from Sporting Lison over the weekend. I have what I know on the latest on that deal in here, as well as a positive sourced update on our progress to sign Moises Caicedo from Brighton, and interest in James Maddison from Leicester City. Since writing this article though, reports have come out that Chelsea have pulled from the race to sign Ugarte, which comes as no surprise to me. As you guys will remember, one top source has always been adamant Ugarte was going to PSG from the off, I was really hoping that source was wrong. On the plus side, the same source says we are moving very positively for Caicedo right now. But Chelsea wanted both. I’ve been playing down Ugarte the whole time, despite everyone else reporting it he was joining Chelsea. Who knows, maybe there is another sharp turn in this saga and he does end up at Chelsea, but whatever happens, this has been another shambolic pursuit and saga for our club. Oh dear.
We have to go straight onto the main man Messi now, because he is Lionel Messi and he is the GOAT, in my opinion! Have Chelsea made an offer to sign Messi this summer? Well, you might want to read this bit of sourced info here to find out!! 👀
The Mason Mount PR articles all went out over the weekend, and that was a real heavy bombardment. I’m absolutely sick to death of it all and this whole saga now to be honest. It’s wound me up how both sides are putting out completely different stories on it, and it’s wound me up how it’s all been handled. I’ve expressed my emotions in this one here.
We had our friend The Score on hand to balance my Mason Mount article out a bit today and as always, I appreciate and welcome different opinions. Score has a slightly different slant on the Mount situation and a lot more in here.
Finally, round up all the rest of the general Chelsea news from Sunday in the big report here!
Hope you all had a good weekend, enjoy your Monday! Live blog will be fired up from 8am as always, see you there!
Peace, Si.
