The Chelsea FC Newsletter: Tuesday 8th August 2023!
Morning all!
I call these days ‘developing days’ because they truly are exactly that right now as we enter the last three weeks of what has been a long old summer transfer window. From the days of June where we were basically selling a player every other day, to heading to the middle of August with the Moises Caicedo to Chelsea transfer saga still ongoing! It’s been a heck of a ride so far, and it’s only going to get more crazy in these last few weeks!
Ben Jacobs had the very latest on Caicedo and a lot more in his exclusive updates column for us yesterday. You can catch that here if you haven’t already, but I highly recommend checking it out as it explains the ins and outs of a potential Caicedo deal and how structure and add-ons will be key still. Loads more in this including six more midfielders we are looking at.
Next up, to follow along with these ‘developing days’ you most certainly need to be logging in to this website on daily basis and keeping an eye on my live blog that I run. These have the very latest updates across all outlets, as well as extra sourced info that I get that does not go in to articles, as well as my extra opinions on each bit of news and assessing whether I think the news is correct or not. So for the latest live blog with all that in and more, click here! Tyler Adams news from me in this as it looks to advance this week.
I have a sourced article next on Chelsea’s potential swap deal with Juventus that would see Romelu Lukaku head to Serie A again, and Dusan Vlahovic head to Stamford Bridge. A lot if being said and reported on this, and a lot of it is unsurprisingly contrasting. I have the latest on what I know here. Check the blog also for further Vlahovic updates from throughout the day.
We continue the big build up to Sunday’s Premier League opener against Liverpool by selecting our starting Xl for the game. I can reveal our community preferred Xl here, with a surprise start in goal, and on the right wing! Also in this one, I’ve asked you to pick your Pochettino predicted Xl for the game so we can see if, or how they differ!
Poch will name his new permanent Chelsea captain for this game, and it might even come out in the press conference at the end of this week. A lot has been said and debated on who the new captain should be. I’ve got my final thoughts on it here, as well as some ‘whispers’ on who it might be and also allowing you to select your favoured choice for captain and vice!
That’s all for now! Live blog will be up and running from 8am as usual today! Have a good one!
Peace, Si.
