Kepa and Gilmour WILL start vs Krasnodar, but bad news for Hudson-Odoi
Watch Frank Lampard and Billy Gilmour speak to the media ahead of Champions League clash, plus an update on Ziyech's injury
Frank Lampard spoke to the media this lunchtime ahead of tomorrow’s Champions League match against Krasnodar.
The Blues boss was joined by Billy Gilmour, who will be starting the match tomorrow, as confirmed by Lampard.
Gilmour is just coming back from a long-term injury that has kept him out since the summer, but he has an ideal chance to get some match fitness back in the tank at Stamford Bridge tomorrow night, with his side having already topped their Champions League group with games to go.
Lampard also confirmed that out of favour goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga will start the match tomorrow, giving a rest to Edouard Mendy and an opportunity to the Spanish international.
There was some bad news on Callum Hudson-Odoi though, who was also expected to start the match tomorrow night. He has picked up a hamstring injury in training and will miss the match - with no further details provided as it stands.
Hakim Ziyech is also struggling with a hamstring injury, and he is going for tests on that on Monday. Lampard says we will know more on the severity after the tests but he hopes it isn’t serious.
Lampard said “the feeling he had since the game is that it doesn't feel too bad, which I'm hoping means we can be talking a couple of weeks, but I have to wait for the scan."
Lampard also spoke on the form of Timo Werner and Kai Havertz plus more.
Gilmour then stepped up and answered questions on his injury, the competition in the squad right now, and the game o Tuesday evening.
The young Scot is a man of few words, but fair play to him for stepping up and speaking!
