Final push for Jules Kounde as Chelsea hope defender dominoes fall
Chelsea could be in for busy last days in the transfer window
The current transfer window ends at the end of this month, and we may get to a situation where we are all constantly watching our phones for updates with Chelsea potentially one of the clubs who could be busy in the final days.
Chelsea want to try and complete the deal to sign Jules Kounde from Sevilla, and I understand personal terms have been agreed. The youngster is just waiting for the two clubs to agree the fee.
The reliable Italian reporter Fabrizio Romano has been all over this one and he is of the belief that Chelsea WILL make another offer to sign Kounde in the coming days, after things went quiet whilst the club sealed the deal to sign Romelu Lukaku.
It also appears dependent on whether Chelsea can sell Kurt Zouma in the final days as well, at least that is the thinking of another reliable reporter, David Ornstein of The Athletic.
Personally I am told that Chelsea will push for Kounde again in the next week or so, but they ideally do need to offload Zouma.
West Ham have agreed a £25m fee with Chelsea to sign the French international this window, according to the same report from Ornstein, they are still just waiting to conclude on personal terms, but that should get done, and Zouma should be heading to West Ham soon.
This could then be the domino that falls onto Chelsea signing Kounde before the window is up, but it could go down to the wire.
Don’t you just love silly season!? I do!
