Exclusive with The Secret Scout: "I won't be surprised if a decision is made on Frank Lampard sooner rather than later"
TSS also delivers views and news on Erling Haaland, and other potential transfer business
With things really starting to brew up at Chelsea, we decided to take some time to speak to a proven insider from the platform The Secret Scout.
If you follow any of their social media, you will see that they often get some great insights at Chelsea.
So first of all, we obviously had to address the ever pressing Frank Lampard situation.
“The pressure is on,” TSS told us.
“ Top four is looking uncertain. Huge amounts of money spent and Covid is impacting finances.
“I wouldn’t be surprised if a decision is made [sacking Frank Lampard] sooner rather than later.”
“I’m disappointed that the team doesn’t have a style of play in or out of possession,” TSS continued.
“Lampard has not had a chance to integrate the new players, and too many of them are struggling. I do expect more from him and his coaching team.”
There has been some whispers of player unrest at Chelsea and some issues in the dressing room, do you know anything of that?
“I’ve not heard of any unrest,” says TSS.
“The group is extremely low on confidence though. There has been too many changes and not enough cohesion.”
So what about any potential transfer moves in what is and will be looking like a hugely quiet window for Chelsea? Any chance of Declan Rice joining?
“Rice is unlikely now,” said TSS. “It would be the summer now.
“We could still see a loan for one of Alonso or Emerson if they can’t be sold this summer. Cover will be needed for Chilwell.”
And the man that everyone wants to know about, are Chelsea really in for Erling Haaland this summer?
“Yes Chelsea are keen, but they would need to get champions league football. Where they finish could have an impact on who they can sign this summer,” concludes TSS.
Gives us your tips, who will leave the club permanently this summer?
“Jorginho, Loftus-Cheek, and Tomori!”
We have to ask, IF Lampard does get sacked, who would you like to see come in?
“The team needs a coach that can imprint style and philosophy,” TSS said.
“I’d like Brendan Rodgers or Thomas Tuchel but again, they would need time.”
Finally, do you know anything about our summer centre back pursuits?
“Not that I know of,” concedes TSS. “But there are plans to integrate Levi Colwill as natural left CB more. There are a few clubs are interested in him.”
