Disclaimer: This is obviously not myself and my old man - we just didn’t pay for the gold package to have a photo (to be fair to John though he DID stop for many photos with fans when walking around).

On Friday evening I was lucky enough to be in attendance to listen to a live talk from our very own captain, leader, and legend, John Terry.

It was a Christmas gift I bought for my Dad who of course, is the reason I started supporting Chelsea. We had an absolute blast and it was so interesting hearing some of the stories and opinions from our legend the day before he went and bossed it in a Chelsea shirt at Stamford Bridge once again.

Of course, I didn’t want to get the whole transcript and these are snippets from a two hour talk, but I jotted down many of the key quotes and things that Terry spoke about, and I have them exclusively below.

I’m not sure if the talk will be aired anywhere so this could be the only place you end up seeing some of what Terry said that night. But as always, I wanted to share some of it with you guys here.

8 international captains

I’ll begin with something I touched upon in my debrief article for the legends game today. It never really hit me before and I don’t think I realised at the time, but Terry confirmed that in the Jose Mourinho era (first time) that Chelsea squad had 8 international captains playing in it. That’s truly remarkable and as I said, something we will never see again. So many leaders but of course, all under one true leader, Jose.

Best ever Chelsea player?

Terry of course named Frank Lampard best ever Chelsea player he has personally witnessed. Which perhaps comes as no surprise at all.
