The new summer transfer window opens on Monday the 16th of June and clubs will be able to sign and sell players again after the short break.

Chelsea are of course in Club World Cup action for the next two to four weeks depending on how far they advance, but that does not mean that they will not be working on deals. We are especially now expecting to see the outgoing deals heat up at least.

But as we know, Chelsea are also still trying to make some more new signings this summer, and another new striker is still being considered despite Liam Delap’s arrival.

We know that the club like Hugo Ekitike and attempted to strike a deal to sign him already this summer. But that one stalled due to Frankfurt not budging on their £85m valuation.

Chelsea have not dropped their interest in Ekitike, but they are now also weighing up other options as well.
