The Chelsea FC Newsletter: Tuesday 23rd October 2023!
Morning all,
I am sure we are all still feeling those mixed emotions from a frustrating end to the game on Saturday. With 15 minutes to go there is no excuse for throwing that away and in the way we threw it away. But I am still feeling very positive about how we are playing right now and how things are coming together - I see a much needed three points incoming on Saturday, I’m really starting to feel a bit of confidence in this squad now.
Cole Palmer scored our opening goal on Saturday from the spot, but there was an incident on the lead up to that goal that really could of derailed Palmer’s confidence. I don’t want to see anything like that again, but the positive from it was how Enzo Fernandez reacted. He is really showing captain material for me and he is an asset to this squad not just because of his quality. Much more on that in here.
Another positive (or negative) ahead of our next game on Saturday is that the selection headache for Mauricio Pochettino is growing. He has a huge task on Saturday with his team selection, and there is some impossible players to leave out, but he will have to leave some out. This is a great problem to have, and I discuss all of that in here.
Ben Jacobs was back this week with his latest extensive Chelsea column exclusively for this site. Ben covers the latest transfer news in this on Aaron Ramsdale interest, Conor Gallagher being keen to sign new Chelsea deal, Kendry Paez integration placns, latest on Victor Osimhen or Ivan Toney to Chelsea, and much more in here.
Luke Rushbrook is going to be doing something for us most days now on the site and I am sure you will all agree, that is great news. Luke has been a massive help to me in the last few months and he is a real credit to our team and our community. Check out his latest article here which looks at a deeper tactical review of the Arsenal game, focusing on how Chelsea won the individual battles across the pitch. It really was key, and you’ll see that from Luke’s words.
Finally for this newsletter, round up all your latest Chelsea news, quotes, transfer rumours, and everything else from the last 24 hours in the same place here. Check this every day and you will not miss a thing!
I’ll be on the live blog from around 8am as usual this morning, please do join me there!
Peace, Si.
Very good news on Luke getting more involved. I like his varied articles and coming from additional angles on how he views players and games.
