I don’t think it’s a massive surprise that Mauricio Pochettino isn’t quite yet the new Chelsea manager. Chelsea, and Pochettino, are taking their time and have been discussing all the finer details. Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghabli led an important meeting from Los Angeles over the weekend and the expectation is the club will move after the Arsenal game.

Chelsea have always said the process will be “exhaustive and thorough” and done on their timescale. Clearly that was an issue for Julian Nagelsmann, who wanted a coronation not a process.
