A lot has been said and written about Chelsea and the dire injury problems they are currently facing.

Is it down to the medical department? Are the club hierarchy forcing players to return too soon? Is Mauricio Pochettino doing that? Is his training too intense? Have we just signed injury prone players? Is it simply just down to bad luck? Are the players at fault and not looking after themselves away from Cobham and doing the right recovery or eating the right foods? We do know that players have played through injuries this season with the help of pain killer injections, so of course that will be an aspect.

The truth is, we will never fully know what the main issues are, but it’s likely to be a bit of a mix of all the above.

Chelsea are looking to make new hires in the medical department still heading into the summer, but really, sources have said the club are struggling to pinpoint the main issues of all of these injuries.

I’ve written opinion articles on here and I’ve wondered that it might be that the training methods of Pochettino being too intense. We have seen his former players and even current players mention just how intense it is. And I’ve believed that some players might just find it too hard, or rather not too hard, but their bodies just can’t take it (everyone is built different). Players like Conor Gallagher will thrive on such intense training styles, but other injury prone players might struggle with it and it may just hinder their recoveries. I still do believe that to a certain extent, to be honest.

However, I’ve had some very interesting info given to me this week from sources close to a couple of the players, speaking on Pochettino’s training methods.
