Welcome to Tuesday’s Chelsea FC Newsletter, thanks for joining us!
First of all, an exclusive bit of news to deliver that we put out yesterday regarding Cole Palmer agreeing a new contract with Nike. All the details and big news for the attacking midfielder can be found here via our own sources.
How is everyone feeling about Enzo Maresca right now then? There seems to be a real divide in the fan base already, which is exactly what happened with Maurizio Sarri (I actually predicted that when Maresca was hired). So what I wanted to do was find out the opinions of everyone in our community here. So please take part in the latest polls here.
And I have put my opinions out on Maresca in full here. I’ve said I wont be calling for him to be sacked this season and I am open minded and prepared to assess it all in the summer. But I will still always voice my opinions and concerns as is my right as a fan. I never understand when managers or players try to fight back with fans and create a bigger wedge between them, it’s never smart. Just let your football do the talking and prove those people wrong, then you can have that last smile.
Another thing that’s annoyed me this week is seeing some fans trying to police opinions one way or the other. They’re either upset because people are happy that we won, or they’re upset that some fans are still finding things to criticise even after we won. Just let fans be. Not everyone is going to share your views and that is fine. Stop policing opinions! Full words here.
