EXCL: Chelsea scout striker on international duty and come to conclusion
As we know, a new striker is still big on the agenda this summer
Chelsea’s plans to sign a new striker this summer remains high up their on the list of things to do.
At the moment, the club’s decision makers and scouts are looking at a host of different options and profiles as they look to make a decision on which striker they want to go all out for to try and sign.
There are many things coming in to play in what they are looking at, not just the data. They are looking at age profiles, mentalities, difference makers, ceilings of the player, and of course, price and wages.
The club have done a lot of work to reduce the wage expenditure a lot, and they are keen to keep it that way. This doesn’t completely rule out players like Victor Osimhen, who are going to be the top end of our wage budget if they do arrive, but Chelsea are looking to be smart and are really weighing up many things when deciding on what striker to go for this summer.
During the international break, it is completely normal for Chelsea scouts to be at many games, but I understand they were at two games in particular during the recent March break.
