Evening Roundup: Thursday 7th March 2024
Todays news and rumours surrounding Chelsea Football Club
Good Evening Ladies and Gents,
Today has been jam packed with content on the site, 2 articles from Si, 2 from myself and one from The Score as well as a podcast from Jai featuring The Score and I.
Here is a roundup of everything that has happened away from SPTC today.
First up from Jacob Steinburg;
“Chelsea will look to sign a ‘traditional’ Number 9 and have tracked Napoli’s Victor Osimhen, RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko and Sporting Lisbon’s Viktor Gyökeres.”
Verdict; We spoke at length about this tonight on the pod, my feelings are very clear, steer clear of Osimhen, I am happy with Gyokeres for a reasonable fee, Sesko buyout is so cheap for his potential, I like Toney and LOVE Alexander Isak. Listen to tonight’s pod to hear more.
Next up from Matt Law;
“Chelsea are eyeing a summer move for Athletic Bilbao star Nico Williams who has has a release clause in his Bilbao contract set at around £43million.”
“A move by Chelsea for Nico Williams would also place question marks against the long-term futures of Raheem Sterling and possibly Mykhailo Mudryk.”
Verdict; At that price, BUY HIM NOW! He is extremely both footed, and an extremely high volume dribbler and has crazy potential, he is far from the finished article but would be better now than sterling and mudryk, he would compete with Jackson from the left in my view.
From ChelseaHQ on Twitter (X);
“If #Chelsea are infact going to trigger the £43m release clause of Nico Williams then the club will look to sell Raheem Sterling as make weight. The Saudi’s are interested in Sterling.”
Verdict: I actually rate this guys info quite a bit he generally gets things right, on to the topic of conversation, I think it has to be done, to buy a winger we need to sell a winger. For example if we want Olise we have to sell Madueke in my opinion.
From Felix Johnston (last night);
“Tyrique George & Kiano Dyer [have been] involved in 1st team training.”
Verdict; It is always good when academy lads get to train with the first team, especially when players like these 2 have had excellent seasons so far.
Kevin De Bruyne talking to Rio Ferdinand on TNT Sports last night;
"I could've went to Dortmund, with Klopp, at the time, Jose wanted me to stay" "I was maybe a little impatient at the time, I had the confidence, but I know [chuckles] there was a lot of good players there, it was a top team"
Verdict: Lets finally put to bed about Mourinho selling him, he made his own choices. As Mourinho said himself when on John Obi Mikels podcast, people always say he sold Salah, his response was “I bought Salah”.
Thank you all for reading

Hey Luke, thanks for always providing great content. Wondering why would we even consider Olise with his injury history - do we really need more of that? Seems like a huge red flag. And on the topic of Sterling - I'm wondering why we would sell him when all the talk is that we need more experience. Selling him and buying even more inexperienced players is seemingly a contradiction. What am I missing? Is this a wages issue? THX
