Enzo Maresca's Antonio Conte comparison's - A pragmatic dream, Jorgensen's time to snatch game time, Cole Palmer SO good because he backs himself, Levi Colwill's right on competition, Much more...
The Chelsea FC Newsletter: Tuesday 1st October 2024
Morning all,
Some big games coming up for Chelsea this week, and there will be chances to impress once again for some of the fringe players at the club, one of which is goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen.
The Dane will be seeing those mistakes made by Robert Sanchez at the weekend and seeing an opportunity to jump in front of him as the main number one. Thursday will give him a chance to shine, but it will be on him to take it. Words on that in here.
This is called good competition, and all the top clubs need that to elevate them. Levi Colwill has been speaking about that this week as well, and he says that players are knocking on Enzo Maresca’s door asking him why they aren’t playing. I believe this is very positive and could prove to be the difference for Chelsea this season. Colwill’s words and my opinion in here.
One player who doesn’t need to worry about his position being under threat right now is Cole Palmer, the Chelsea talisman. It was The Cole Palmer Show on Saturday afternoon, and pundits are running out of praising words to say about him. I’ve managed to find some in here though, honing in on the fact that he has an elite mentality to go with the talent, and the reason he is SO good is because he fully backs himself.
A lot was said about Enzo Maresca being another Pep Guardiola, or a student of Pep, before he arrived at the club. But I see Maresca actually playing transitional football at Chelsea so far, and for me that is a good thing. I’ve dived into his tactics so far in here.
