Enzo Maresca not straight talking on Robert Sanchez, I agree with Nev and Carra - our spine still needs addressing, Caicedo now just as important as Palmer, Time to give Neto the nod, Much more...
The Chelsea FC Newsletter: Tuesday 22nd October 2024!
Morning all,
I hope you’re enjoying your week so far.
Chelsea head to Greece later this week to take on Panathinaikos in our next Europa Conference League match - a nice away trip for the travelling fans, bit of Autumn sunshine no doubt!
Before that though, there is a focus still on the Liverpool game and some more reactions to that. Even though we lost, the overall thought from the fan base is still one that is quite positive.
There are still some things that have been highlighted though and for me, it’s mainly a lack of a bit of a spine in this team still.
And for once, I found myself agreeing with Jamie Carragher and Gary Neville. They have both highlighted positions we need to improve in to be title challengers, and I think many of you guys will also agree with this in here.
Enzo Maresca has been a real straight talker since he arrived at the club, something many of us have really appreciated. But his recent words on Robert Sanchez have caused a bit of a stir amongst the fan base. I have my own thoughts on that in here.
Two players who were very good against Liverpool were Moises Caicedo and Pedro Neto, especially the aforementioned who I named as our SPTC man of the match.
Caicedo has been superbly consistent this season, and the stats prove that. For me, he has become just as important as Cole Palmer now in this team - you can read all about that in here.
And Neto for me now should be getting the nod in our best Xl, but who for? I have explained my reasoning for all of this in here.
And of course, I have ALL your general Chelsea news from across the last 24 hours in the same place here for your convenience :)
See you all on the live blog from around 8.30am today!
Peace, Si.
