Deep dive tactical analysis of Palace win, Open letter to our owners, PREVIEW: Luton Town vs Chelsea, Pochettino should use a false 9 Saturday, Full news roundups, Much more...
The Chelsea FC Newsletter: Friday 29th December 2023!
Morning all,
Today we will be recording our latest Podcast, rather than yesterday. Jai is free and so am I, so we’ve managed to schedule a Pod in. I’ll drop that into your emails later today.
We have a bunch of top content for you until then though, and I had some help today from two of our finest, The Score and Seun.
Seun as always has dived deep into our win against Crystal Palace on Wednesday night with his tactical analysis article here. Fully equipped with diagrams and videos. Not to be missed!
The Score’s latest would have dropped into your emails yesterday and I must say, this here is probably the best article he’s ever written. It’s an open letter to the owners detailing the issues we are going through right now and what needs to change and happen. For The Score, who has been a massive advocate of this ownership until literally just a week or so ago, to write something like this, then you know there is a ton of weight to every point he has made in this article.
We also have our next game coming up this Saturday, and we make the short journey to one of the quirkiest football stadium’s in the UK, Kenilworth Road. The Blues face Luton Town in the 12.30pm Premier League kick off, and you can get my full preview, predictions, head to head, current form, team news, and much more in here.
In the above you will find the lineup that I think Pochettino will go for, but as always, it’s not what I would go for or want to see. I’ve detailed that in my latest article. I want to see Chelsea use a false 9 on Saturday and get Cole Palmer, Christopher Nkunku, Noni Madueke, and Mykhailo Mudryk all starting together. I know it wont happen, but a man can dream in here.
Finally, the latest live blog was running again yesterday here and that is the place you need to head to in order to read all of your latest Chelsea news from across the last 24 hours in one place.
OK folks, I’ll be back on the site on Sunday reviewing the Luton game and also with some sourced transfer news. Until then, if anything big goes off or there is any sourced news I need to put out or speak on, I will jump on the Substack App chat section. I also must remember to start the match discussion thread on there for Saturday’s game. I will remember, promise!
Have a great weekend people, speak on Sunday!
Peace, Si.
X (twitter) has excelled itself today - someone is trying to explain to JT how to defend at corners - classic.
Must say, thought The Score’s article was very well written, balanced & thought provoking. What are the chances of it getting to the right ears & you guys getting a response on this page? Not unrealistic given your ‘pedigree’ & the reputation of Si & Co😀
